Earlier today 2K Games announced that they are publishing [i]The Darkness[/i] for next generation systems. [i]The Darkness[/i] is being developed by Starbreeze Studios, you may remember their work on [i]The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay[/i].
Based upon the comic book franchise, [i]The Darkness[/i] will combine a modern crime drama, supernatural horror and distinctive non-linear, first person shooter gameplay. The game puts players in the shoes of mafia hitman Jackie Estacado. On Jackie?s 21st birthday he becomes possessed by ?The Darkness,? the result of which grants him supernatural powers. Through his battles with the Francetti mafia Jackie learns how to master traditional weapons along with his newfound abilities.
