Atlus looking decidedly retro sporting matching acid-washed denim jeans and a jacket, today announced that the highly anticipated retro-sexy action-adventure 3D Dot Game Heroes for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system is now available in retailers across North America.
"3D Dot Game Heroes is the complete package," boasted Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales at Atlus. "It offers gameplay that is easy to pick up and enjoy but doesn't excessively hold the player's hand. It artfully marries blocky 8- and 16-bit style visuals with sleek current gen rendering power, reaching into the dreams and imagination of older gamers and serving up their wildest fantasies of how their favorite classics would look in the modern era. It puts nearly unlimited creative power in the hands of players with its character editor, letting gamers design and animate the heroes of their dreams. It places gamers in a vast, lush kingdom filled with secrets to discover, quests to solve, funny characters to interact with, and dungeons to conquer.
"And it does all of this at a bargain price of $39.99 and with a constant tongue-in-cheek respect for the legends of gaming that it parodies. Veteran gamers will relish the depth and replayability, getting a kick out of the winks and inside jokes along the way. Younger gamers will love its simplicity, gorgeous visuals, and exciting action-adventure gameplay. How can anyone say no to that?"
In celebration of the game's launch, Atlus released "Mini-game Rap," the fifth 3D Dot Game Heroes vignette. The video, which focuses on the various mini-games players can distract themselves with when they're procrastinating rescuing the kingdom of Dotnia, also happens to be the raddest video to date in the series of vignettes released for the game.
3D Dot Game Heroes for PlayStation 3 system is now available in retailers across North America with an MSRP of $39.99.
