Do you want a great off road racing game to play this holiday season? Well, if you do then DON’T buy this one.
This is one of the worst racing games to have been released for any console in a long time. I thought this game would be exactly like the PC’s, 4×4 Evolution 2, but instead I got a game with the worst graphics, audio, and gameplay. It’s simply not worth buying. As soon as you start off racing, you realize that it’s basically impossible to win the first race without upgrading your car. In most games the races start off easy and then get harder, but in this game they start hard and just get even harder.
One nice feature about 4×4 Evo 2 is that it has plenty of gameplay modes to keep you busy for a long time, even if the game isn’t interesting or fun. In my mind, the free roam mode is the most boring. All you do is ride around until you want to stop. A neat mode in this game is a mode in which you are competing against a few other monster truck drivers to see who can run over the most piles of cars. This game gets a little boring after a while because all you are doing is constantly trying to find cars to crash into before the computer’s cars do. With over 100 cars and about thirty different tracks, 4×4 Evo 2 has many options to explore but all of the important factors of the game are very poorly done. Another neat feature is the mission mode. Another way to make money to purchase new cars or car parts is to complete missions. Some missions are as simple as to complete the training mission, while others are complex such as delivering medical aid to a certain town.
Overall, I would not recommend this game to anyone. If you liked the PC version of 4×4 Evolution 2, then don’t think that the Xbox game will be just as good…because it isn’t. This game has bad graphics, audio, and gameplay, which makes it a very bad off-road racing game that will probably not do very well in the market.
