Former Acclaim Global CEO Rod Cousens has reportedly secured funding to bring back defunct operations of the Acclaim studios in the United Kingdom. The company will undergo a complete transformation and will operate under a new name.
Four titles have already been signed to the former Acclaim operations with sights set on the highly anticipated Juiced. A number of Acclaim’s U.S. assets are also being pursued.
The new company is hopeful it can rehire the 160 displaced Acclaim UK employees.
Cousens was appointed to CEO in the summer of 2003 when Acclaim co-founder Gregory Fischbach stepped down. Cousens had served in the position of COO for Acclaim before his promotion.
Acclaim, which had employed nearly 600 people, let go its entire staff on August 27 before filing for bankruptcy September 1.
