Ever wonder about the person who lends their voice to some of your favorite videogame characters? Who are they, or what they’re really like? If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the person behind the sexy, sultry voice of Rayne from BloodRayne then read on. Actress Laura Bailey talks about her role as the half-vampire vixen, her love of videogames and what lies ahead.
How did you get involved with doing the voice of Rayne for BloodRayne?
Terminal Reality called me in to record some early test tracks for Roadkill a few months before they held auditions for BloodRayne. Then, when the auditions came around, I happened to get the part. I think the fact that I had been up there and had already met my directors made the whole audition process a lot easier. Had I known what a large project BloodRayne actually was, though, I think I would have been much more nervous.
Are you a fan of videogames? Do you play BloodRayne?
Oh my gosh, I love videogames. I grew up with a gamer family – so it was completely inevitable. I have played BloodRayne (well, most of it anyway) although I have yet to get a copy of the sequel. It’s kinda weird that I’ve waited this long actually, since I was so excited about its release. Something about buying a game with your own voice in it though, feels strangely egotistical; and I’m just not ready to embrace those vanities quite yet.
What’s your favorite videogame and why?
This is a hard one. Ummmm
