According to an article published on GamesIndustry.biz this morning, industry analysts believe that Microsoft will indeed launch its next generation Xbox console this year, and as soon as late October or early November. In the article, it goes on to state that Eurogamer obtained the date from American and British senior development crews, as well as publishing and retail sources who also have confirmed the launch window.
To add, gamers in America have speculated for some time that next-gen Xbox (Xenon, Xbox 360) would arrive before year’s end, but now it appears that the system will also launch in the UK and Europe alongside the stateside release, complete with a “spectacular and unprecedented launch event” in central London.
With Sony already announcing that they will show off the PlayStation 3 before E3, and EA already confirming their next-gen titles, it only appears to be a matter of time before Microsoft completely (and officially) lets the cat out of the bag. Check back with us for more updates.
