Atari’s Tycoon City: New York Goes Gold

Atari announced today that newest Tycoon game, Tycoon City: New York, has gone gold. This PC game challenges players to create business empires in Manhattan. The game is scheduled to ship to stores nationwide on February 21st.

New York City has been entirely recreated with detailed 3D graphics. The Statue of Libery, the Empire State, and Times Squares are just a few landmarks you?ll be able to interact with. Through a unique partnership with TIME magazine, your likeness can be portrayed on the virtual cover of TIME Magazine billboards throughout New York!

“These days, real estate is the hottest game to get into, and Tycoon
City: New York offers everyone a chance to test their skills – with no
mortgage broker approval necessary!” said Bill Carroll, producer, Atari,
Inc. “With over two dozen in-game partners, world-renowned landmarks
and true-to-life neighborhoods, Tycoon City: New York puts players in
the thick of the action in the world’s most exciting city.”

Atari released this statement about the game:
“In Tycoon City: New York, players start from humble beginnings as a
budding entrepreneur and build a Manhattan empire by creating,
upgrading, and customizing more than 100 types of major businesses based
on the needs of real New Yorkers in the game. Some challenges include
running a nightclub, owning a hot new restaurant, and opening a Broadway
theater. High-profile industries, real-world brands, and a bustling
round-the-clock lifestyle give every player the chance to make it. All
of these challenges take place in authentic New York neighborhoods like
the East Village, Chelsea and Greenwich Village.”

Tycoon City: New York is being developed by Deep Red Games and will ship
to retailers for the Windows platform on February 21, 2006 nationwide.
