The rumored [i]Katamari[/i] sequel that was being hinted at across the internet was confirmed today by Namco-Bandai. For those who don’t remember, Keita Takahashi, the mind behind the original [i]Katamari Damacy[/i], broke up his development team after Namco pressured him to put out two sequels, [i]We Love Katamari[/i] on the PS2 and [i]Me and My Katamari[/i] on the PSP. Since, he has left the game industry to…design playgrounds…?
Regardless, Namco-Bandai is moving on without him to develop a new [i]Katamari[/i] game, [i]Beautiful Katamari[/i], which is lined up to appear on the PS3 and 360. Nintendo fans should curb their enthusiasm, as a Wii version was neither confirmed nor denied, but was presented as a possibility, depending on how they are able to implement the Wii’s control scheme into the gameplay (Cube controller, please).
