Merscom LLC announced earlier this week that they have finished work on Bode
Miller Alpine Skiing for PC. It will feature 32 slopes across 18 world-famous
venues.
Bode Miller Alpine Skiing is the only game that is endorsed by Olympic Medalist
and defending FIS World Cup Champion Bode Miller. It is also the only game that
will feature the skiier. Players will be able to participate in Downhill,
Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G disciplines. The Career Mode promises to be
indepth, allowing players to train, hire waxers, edit their tour calendar, buy
ski gear, and negotiate sponsorship deals. You will also be able to compete in
courses from around the world, including Beaver Creek, USA, Garmisch, Germany,
and Adelboden, Switzerland.
As you may remember, Bode Miller stirred up some controversy stemming from
comments he made on CBS’ weekly news show 60 Minutes. In the televised
interview, Miller said,”There have been times when I’ve been in really tough shape at the top of the course. Talk about a hard challenge right there. … If you ever tried to
ski when you’re wasted, it’s not easy. Try and ski a slalom when … you hit a
gate less than every one second, so it’s risky, you know. You’re putting your
life at risk there. It’s like driving drunk only there’s no rules about it in
ski racing.”
Miller has since apologized for these comments, and will represent America in
the 2006 Winter Olympics. Bode Miller Alpine Skiier will be released on the PC,
and will retail for $19.99 (USD).
