2K Games has released a handful of new downloads for [i]Sid Meier’s Civilization IV[/i] for the PC.
Patch 1.61 will add a number of new features including; new scenarios and map scripts, unit adjustments and enhancements, and various multiplayer upgrades. It will also feature a long list of fixes and changes to existing game characteristics.
The new Pitboss Server Application is a dedicated server for online and local games. It will enable players to log out of a game at any time and log in again to continue their progress from any point. 2K Games hopes this will allow better integration of the epic scope of [i]Civilization IV[/i] into multiplayer gaming.
Lastly, 2K Games has released the [i]Civilization IV[/i] SDK (Software Development Kit). It contains the core game DLL source code, which will allow mod happy gamers to modify, or completely rewrite, the [i]Civilization IV[/i] world.
