This has to be one of the best helicopter simulators that I have seen in a long time. With great graphics, pretty good audio, and amazing game play, there are not many games that can compete with this one. Although there are not tons of helicopter games on the market today, this has to be one of the better ones. Although there are some flaws in the graphics and audio, I would have to give a pat on the back to the creators for creating such a great game.
The graphics in this game were great with a few minor and unimportant flaws. The explosions literally blew me out of this world with their how realistic they were. Also, there were always details located all over the screen. For instance, at some points in the game there was a win meter on one side of the screen, and at other times, it displayed your current objective whether it be to shoot down an enemy plane or to destroy a convoy traveling in the valleys below you. A neat feature of this game, that along with was the win requirements were, it also told you the lose requirements. For instance, at one point it said if the convoy passes into the canyon then you lose.
The audio of this game may have been a weak point but it was still pretty good. One thing that many may consider bad or good was that the rotors were very soft. You had to really crank up your speakers to hear it. On other games there is way too much engine noise, but I may have been able to see a slight bit more on this one. The firing of the guns and missiles sounded very realistic but I do not have much to compare it to considering the fact that I have never been inside a helicopter when it fired its guns or launched a missile. So overall, the audio in this game was pretty good but I could see room for improvement.
The gameplay of this game had to be the strongest feature of this game hands down. The fact that it was so realistic made me not want to stop playing this game. I literally could not put this game down. If you want maximum performance in the game play area of this game then it might be useful to have a joystick or some kind of pad that works good with air combat simulators. A force feedback pad or joystick would do even better. There is also a very large variety of game play options. You can choose from several mission objectives that all have their very own uniqueness. You can choose to attack a ground target, or even defend a base. Or, you can aid your team in an air raid against the enemy.
Overall, I thought this game was great. I would recommend this game to anyone with a joystick or pad that is in for a great air combat game. This game will make you want to keep on playing for hours and hours. With so many options, you will never have enough of this one. Go out and buy it now!
