Conspiracies

The game opens with a thrilling interlude that’s complete with appealing graphics and one of those ‘edge of your seat’ storylines. It’s set on a futuristic Earth where all City-States have their own governments that answer to a ruling supreme council.

As for Earth itself, it is your typical overcrowded setting because humans have over-populated and mined all of the natural resources. Also, Earth is trying to join this so called ‘Galactic Alliance’ that’s a mystery of sorts. It is like a shadow of good or evil. You find out that the separate City-States are almost all corrupt and are run by anyone with enough cash to do anything they wish. So you’re thrust into a world of corruption where the whims of a man with money can almost rule. Your name is Nick Delios. The story begins in a casino.

Graphics

Conspiracies is one of those games we all hear about but don’t see very often. It’s done all with real actors over a computer-animated mesh in the background. Also they don’t have any of those black lines surrounding the images of the people like old movies that deal with blue screens. Not to mention the computer animation they have thrown into the mix just for futuristic cars and shuttles. The technology isn’t up to date by the standards of today; but it does give you a feel of almost what American anime could be like. It’s a nice cross between the real and the animated. If this game was release 2 years ago I would probably be ranting like a madman about how great it is, but today its just passing by.

Gameplay

The gameplay can be thought of as an adventure book. In this game you will be prompted with a screen that has three choices of what you want the character to do. It’s like sitting back and watching a movie but with control over the plot. This is a bad and also a good thing, as you aren’t interacting with the game as much as most gamers would like, but on the other hand you get to choose your fate in the game.

Sound

The sounds are great quality only off placed in English; it’s almost like one of those camp Japanese movies from the ’70s. The quality is great, believable, and sets a mood. It sets a great mood for this genre because it’s cheesy and yet fun at the same time. British accents can be hard to figure out for some, but for me it put a smile on my face.

Value

The great thing here is that, after you beat the game once, you think to yourself “I wonder what would happened if I had done this…or that?” so you find yourself going through the game yet again trying to see what you can make the game do. You will get around 3 solid different versions of the game and that’s one of the great features of Conspiracies.

While this game isn’t the best, it will please many viewers. Just don’t go playing Conspiracies and expecting the greatest game ever, OK? Some elements can be worked upon, but the designers will probably fix them in a sequel.
