[I]Half-Life 2[/I] will be available for purchase next week through Steam, according to hlfallout.net. Valve CEO Gabe Newell confirmed to the staff yesterday that offers for the game have been finalized. In Newell’s words, those who do purchase the game via Steam will receive the final version of Counter-Strike: Source immediately. [I]Half-Life 2[/I] and other games in the Steam offerings will be made available to purchasers upon their release.
Several packages will be available through Steam. A bronze version will feature the regular editions of [I]Half-Life 2[/I] and [I]Counter Strike: Source[/I], while the silver version will include [I]Half- Life 2, Counter Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, Day of Defeat: Source[/I] and Valve’s back catalog which is currently available on Steam.
The gold version will contain [I]Half-Life 2,Counter Strike: Source[/I], all source conversions, Valve’s back catalog, Strategy guide from Prima Games, three different posters, a [I]Half-Life 2[/I] hat, a [I]Half-Life 2[/I] postcard, [I]Half-Life 2[/I] stickers, the [I]Half-Life 2[/I] soundtrack CD, and a chance to win a trip to Valve.
