It’s official: the very first expansion pack for Doom 3 has been announced: Resurrection of Evil.
Co-Developed by Nerve Software and id Software, the expansion will “expand” on the single-player campaign from the original Doom 3. Also, expect a few new multiplayer maps, which will support up to 8 players.
From the official press release:
“Following the events of DOOM 3 and featuring new locations, characters and weapons, including the return of the double-barreled shotgun, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil expands the terrifying action that fans and critics have been raving about.”
As is to be expected with id Software, no formal release date has been announced. Expect the game sometime around the first or second quarter of 2005, as Christmas seems a bit too soon for the expansion to be ready for release.
