Electronic Arts revealed more details on their upcoming game based on The Godfather today. Based in the universe of the classic film by Paramount Pictures, gamers will be able to join the Corleone family and earn respect through fear and loyalty as they rise up the ranks to become a Don living in the early 40’s and 50’s.
“We are incredibly excited and honored to have the opportunity to bring the fiction of The Godfather to life in a videogame,” said David DeMartini, EA’s Executive Producer of the game. “The Godfather movies raised the standard for cinematic achievement with their high level of drama and intense storytelling and in fall 2005 gamers will be able to experience that dangerous and living world of The Godfather for themselves.”
Players will create their own player in the game, and it will allow them to relive nostalgic moments from the films as well as create your own through the game’s non-linear world. The voice talent is looking to be top notch too, as stars such as Marlon Brando, James Caan and Robert Duvall have all signed on to lend their talents.
“We are thrilled to partner with Electronic Arts to bring this exceptional content into the interactive world,” said Sandi Isaacs, Vice President of Interactive from Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. “The Godfather is a crown jewel of Paramount Pictures. We are confident this game will deliver the depth of the experience expected by The Godfather movie fans around the world.”
The Godfather is slated to ship in the fall for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, PSP and the PC.
