ESPN VIDEOGAMES NAMES JOSH CHILDRESS AS ESPN COLLEGE HOOPS 2K5 COVER ATHLETE
ESPN Videogames is proud to announce that Josh Childress, former Stanford University guard-forward and first round pick of the Atlanta Hawks, has been selected as cover athlete for ESPN College Hoops 2K5. ESPN Videogames and Childress’ attorney Lon Babby of Williams & Connolly of Washington D.C., jointly announced the deal today.
“I’m honored to be part of ESPN College Hoops 2K5,” said Childress. “In my downtime at Stanford, I loved playing ESPN College Hoops. The game brings together the things I loved about playing college ball – high emotion and fast action. The technology of ESPN College Hoops 2K5 is amazing. It does a great job capturing the essence of college basketball.”
Selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the sixth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Childress was the centerpiece of the Stanford team that was ranked #1 for most of the 2003-04 season. Childress helped lead the Cardinal to three NCAA Tournament appearances, a Pac-10 Championship, and made Stanford history when was named an AP First-Team All American. Additionally, Childress became the first Cardinal player to be named Pac-10 Player of the Year. In his sophomore (2002-03) season, Childress became the first small forward in the history of the Pac-10 to lead the conference in rebounding (8.1 rpg).
