Atlus has just released a demo of their upcoming Etrian Odyssey Untold to the 3DS eShop. The cool part is, progress made in the demo gets transferred to the full retail version! And like most Atlus games, there are some pretty sweet pre-order bonuses available. Official press release below:
It’s time to go exploring in Etrian Odyssey Untold. Beginning today, the land of Etria is ready to explore thanks to a demo available in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. The demo will make available the first few stages of the Story mode, and as a bonus to early adventurers, saved progress in the demo will transfer over to the full game when it releases on Oct. 1. Etrian Odyssey Untold’s Story mode is a first for the series, and will feature a set party and animated cutscenes, which users will be able to sample in the demo.
The full version of Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl will be available in stores and in the Nintendo eShop beginning on Oct. 1. Pre-orders and a limited first-run retail printing of the game will include “Etrian Odyssey Untold, Unseen, Unheard,” a limited-edition collectible with artwork, comics, and production notes, as well as a seven-track CD from series composer Yuzo Koshiro.
Etrian Odyssey Untold is a game in two parts: the first part is a story-driven first-person adventure into the world of Etria. Appropriate for players new to the series and veterans alike, the story mode gives players five pre-made characters, each with their own personalities and dialogue to explore a side of Etria not seen in the first game. Adventurers must brave new dungeon layouts, floors, and enemies to find out the truth behind the Yggdrasil Tree, and the mysterious Millennium Girl, Frederica Irving.
For series veterans, Classic mode offers the traditional Etrian Odyssey gameplay, which is updated to the latest conveniences found in Etrian Odyssey IV, including full 3-D graphics and the inclusion of the new Grimoire Stone System, which allows players to expand their party members’ skills and even learn the skills of enemies.
The game also includes animated opening and story cutscenes by MADHOUSE Inc., and voiceovers for the story and battle scenes and the option for orchestrated background music.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl will be available on Oct. 1 exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS system. The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. Details and pre-order information are on the official game website, http://www.atlus.com/untold.
