Today, three big announcements came from Square-Enix about their MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI. The Final Fantasy XI fan festival wrapped up this past weekend in Santa Monica, CA, and the official website now has a Wrap Up section, detailing the events which closed the festival, including the Treasures of Aht Urhgan Tour, the Ballista Royale Championship (where the first North American team took the world champion title), and more. Check out the details at “http://www.ffxifestival.com/postevent.html”.
Additionally, a new trailer for the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion pack was put up at “http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/ahturhgan/index.html”.
Lastly, details about the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI have been released. FFXI services will officially begin on April 20, 2006, and because of that, the 360 Beta Server will shut down for good on April 2. Beta participants will be glad to know their characters will be able to be transferred to the main worlds, though the actual method will be revealed in the not-so-distant future.
