Have you ever wished you could score an ?A? on your report card for your video game skills? Well, a Missouri school is giving kids that very chance. And surprisingly, it?s for physical education.
Woodland Elementary School in Kansas City has recently incorporated the PE-4-Life Academy into their student?s daily curriculum. Games connected to bicycles, weight machines and even a swimming pool have been incorporated into the gym class. Instructors hope that the children will develop a healthy enjoyment for exercise that they will carry with them until adulthood.
Instructor Elaine Alexander said, “Our focus is mainly, instead of a lot of sports activities, to really work to let children know what they need to do for their personal wellness.?
Woodland Elementary is currently one of only four schools to have a PE-4-Life Academy.
