Today MyGamer received news that Valve and Garry Newman, the developer of Garry's Mod, have struck an agreement whereby Valve with distribute Garry's Mod on November 29th of this year.
A product that utilizes the Source engine will be needed to run the program so the program will be marketed in two ways: it will be bundled with Counter-Strike: Source for $.24.95 or, if the buyer already has one, Garry's Mod will be made available on it's own for $9.99.
Garry Newman, the creator, had this to say: "The new version has been created from scratch so almost everything has been revised and re-invented.” He also added that "It has a bunch of new tools to play with (winches, hydraulics and hoverballs), totally new spawn menu and a few new Post Processing effects to play with. The great thing about Steam is that I can update really regularly, really easily – which is something I plan on doing – so expect more tools/gamemodes/stuff to come."
Expect to see this by Wednesday so check back this week at MyGamer.com and Steam's official site at www.steamgames.com for more updates as they become available. Happy gaming, all!
