Gizmondo Europe, subsidiary of Tiger Telematics Inc. and creator of ? you guessed it – the Gizmondo mobile gaming device, has partnered up with California-based marketing company ID Agency (no relation to id Software) to prepare a massive launch and marketing campaign for the Gizmondo stateside debut.
ID Agency, already a veteran of marketing for a broad range of companies from Michelin to EA, will embark on a $30 million campaign including installations of no less than 50 mall kiosks in the biggest shopping centers around America. This launch will initially start in 12 locations: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Chicago, Seattle, and 4 kiosks in Los Angeles malls. The remaining 38 will open between Q4-05 and Q2-06.
The Gizmondo system, which combines features from both the Sony PSP and the Nintendo handheld systems, will have the following features:
– Nvidia Powered Gaming
– Camera
– Music Player
– Movie Player
– Messaging
– GPS (Here?s a cool note: Some games actually use the GPS feature)
– GPRS
– 400 Mhz Processor and a 3D co-processor
