Activision?s third-person shooter set in the Wild West has just gotten a major boost in talent. Aside from being penned by esteemed writer Randall Jahnson (co-screen writer of The Mask of Zorro and The Doors), top Hollywood actors will voice the characters for developer Neversoft?s newest game, Gun. Thomas Jane (from movies such as The Punisher and *61) will voice Gun?s Colton White, the main hero in the game. Colton White?s father will be voiced by longtime actor Kris Kristofferson (Blade and Payback), and Tom Skerritt (Texas Rangers) will play the role of rebel fighter Clay Allison. Brad Dourif (HBO?s Deadwood) will perform the voice over for ?evil preacher? Josiah Reed. Voice acting veteran Ron Pearlman, who did voice work for NARC, True Crime: Streets of LA, Halo 2, and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (and starred in Hellboy and Blade 2) will be involved in the making of Activision?s Gun as well.
Gun is expected to have a deeply involved adult story, sandbox gameplay, lots of violence, and of course, great voice acting. It is also said to be shipping with a free pack of Official Gun playing cards. Gun is set to be released on all current major systems and the PC on 11/8/2005. An Xbox 360 version is to be released on 11/15/2005. A PSP version has yet to be confirmed. Gun will be rated M for mature.
