Taito has announced they have reached an agreement with Valve to bring Half Life 2 to arcades next year worldwide. The game will run off of Taito’s new TypeX hardware cabinet based of an ATX IBM PC with AGP Radeon graphics cards.
The arcade version of Half Life 2 will be slightly modified from the PC version with three modes: story mode, networked co-op mode, and versus play. The arcade cabinet will also feature widescreen and 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound.
Half Life 2 is one of the most anticipated games this year after dealing with problems of theft and delayed game release. The game has officially gone gold and scheduled for a November 16 release for the PC.
