Loooking forward to Halo 3? How about getting able to play it…this Sping?[p]
That's exactly what you will be able to do. In a public beta event this Spring over Xbox Live, developer Bungie will allow you, the player, to playtest their latest (and greatest?) entry into the Halo franchise. The beta will be for the multiplayer portion of the game. No specific dates, modes, or maps have been announced for it yet, although the existence of this beta should mean that the final game will be ready for release next Fall.[p]
In other Halo 3 news, even non-football fans may want to check out the December 4th Monday Night game between the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Why? Because on that night, a new, sixty second teaser trailer of Halo 3 will air. The teaser will then be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace the day after.[p]
However, for those that are still slugging away at the previous Halo game, Halo 2, you are in for another nice treat this Spring, as Bungie will be releasing brand new maps for the popular online game. These maps will only be available through the Xbox 360's Marketplace, so those who haven't made the next-gen jump yet may want to soon. No word has been released over how many maps will be in this package. Let's hope for a remake of the original game's popular Hang 'Em High level…[p]
Wait, the Halo 3 beta and the Halo 2 maps are both coming out this Spring? Sounds like Bungie may be planning something big. Either way, it should be a busy time for us Halo fans. We'll have all of your Halo news here, so make sure to keep checking back!
