Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that Infinite Crisis, a MOBA, will officially launch on March 26, 2015 on Steam. For more information about Infinite Crisis on Steam, visit: http://store.steampowered.com/
“Infinite Crisis has massively evolved over the past year with the help of the millions of players who participated in our Open Beta,” said Jeffrey Steefel, Executive Producer. “We have designed, updated, and tuned almost every facet of the game based on player feedback and we are now ready to officially launch the game on March 26th.”
Infinite Crisis delivers a heart-pounding competitive player vs. player battle experience set in DC Comics’ legendary Multiverse. Featuring the deepest roster of DC heroes and villains ever assembled, Infinite Crisis puts players in control of twisted incarnations of their favorite characters from throughout the Multiverse such as Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Catwoman, playing in league with such well-known characters such as Green Lantern and The Flash.
Man, the game trailer looks amazing. This could be a lot of fun, but they’re going to be hard pressed to compete with League of Legends. But I’d give it a shot. I’ve always had a soft spot for comicbook-themed games.
It’s certainly a cool trailer, and having superheroes in a video game could make for a very engaging and appealing game (case in point: Injustice Gods Among Us)
That said the MOBA market is extremely saturated, with the giants DotA 2 and LoL dominating. We have seen loads of flops from EA’s Dawngate to Strife to Dead Island Epidemic. However Heroes of the Storm by Blizzard has enjoyed modest success thanks to its use of its rich lore spanning from Diablo to Starcraft to Warcraft. We might just see similar success with Infinite Crisis if Warner Bros makes excellent use of its intellectual property.
Well Infinite Crisis being a MOBA based on DC heroes looks very interesting. The trailer CGI looks good but the in game graphics, I’m not sure they appeal to me. Though since this will be free, I’ll give it a try, to see how it compares to League.
