Just Cause 2: Multiplayer Mod Review

The Just Cause 2: Multiplayer Mod is an astonishing mod, being very complex at its inner workings of code and being very simple gameplay wise. This mod is ingenious and the developers of Just Cause 2 have created a multiplayer mod that makes Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer inferior to it. At its core, the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod is the most elegant, groundbreaking mod the gaming community has ever seen.

What impresses me the most  is that the developers have utilized all the base game resources and mechanics. The base game is reserved and unchanged in the mod and the whole original world is still intact. At the same time while loading the base game with the dynamic massive world, the game can sustain up to 1000 players in one match. However, what irks me the most is the server side lag were gun fights are laggy and there are spontaneous random moments of laggy objects flying at you and killing you. In addition to the lag, there are also random crashes where even people with the best graphics cards available still endure. The lag and he crashes are the only issue with this mod.

The reason why I say Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod’s multiplayer makes Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer inferior is because of its groundbreaking development in the fundamentals of an open world game. Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod holds up to 1000 players a server, has Ultra Graphical settings, you can spawn random vehicles with no restrictions and at a leisure, a world approximately 10x bigger than Grand Theft Auto V’s. Grand Theft Auto V Multiplayer just has a 16 player server, awful last gen graphics, heavy restrictions, a horrible economy, bad vehicle spawning, and a micro-transaction system that brings the game down to a “pay-2-win” after you paid $60.00 for the full game. In all besides Grand Theft Auto V, Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod is one of the masterpieces of open world games.

What do you do in JC2: MP Mod?

You can fly planes, drive expensive sports cars, ride bikes, and drive boats. You can also get in a dog fight with fighter jets, bike races, buy new character skins, demo-derby at the dome, socialize with other players in mansions, go up in the mile high club and get surrounded by explosions, sky dive, and get in the most random gun fights. What I just mentioned barely even scratches the surface of what you can do in this game. There is way much more you can do, I have only done half of these things and I only have about 20 hours of gameplay on this game. I am having way too much fun with this mod, so much fun that I had to force myself to get off the game and write this review.

 Atmosphere:

The mod is chaotic. Everywhere you turn or go there is always an explosion, whether it’s from a guy doing a crash suicide or someone using a grenade launcher to take down a C150. You can spawn any weapons or vehicles from the base game and go crazy with them. However, some servers may place money restrictions on some items that may annoy the population of the player. There is an in-game economy where you can earn money through destroying the environment, killing other players, or winning races. You eventually use this money to go ahead and buy skins, vehicles, or server ranks.

Gameplay:

Many of the game mechanics that have been brought from Just Cause 2 are pretty basic. For instance, the shooting mechanic is pretty basic in that there is little to no recoil and many of the bullets hit on target to where you want them to go. The aiming animation is just you zooming in a little bit on your gun and the sniper scope is just a picture of a cross hair. Movement although is very fluent and dynamic as you can grapple onto vehicles, objects, and walls and grapple towards them. In addition to the movement, you can grapple on top of flying planes and do stunt jumps at over 225 mph. Although this is in the base game, I give praise to the developers who have implemented this into their mod.

Verdict:

+Reserved Gameplay from base game

+Lots of Action
