If the gaming world needs anything right now, it?s another Dynasty Warriors. Okay, that?s not an opinion I personally hold, but apparently enough people agree with such a viewpoint to warrant developer Koei to come out with another Dynasty Warriors game, this time titled Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires. However, it would be unwise to dismiss this next iteration in the series as another mere brawler, that is if Koei?s assertions about this edition prove to be true.
According to Koei, in Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires, ?the player’s ultimate goal is to conquer the 25 regions of Ancient China and build an entire Empire using cunning diplomacy and uncompromising force. Before each battle, the player will meet with the war council to decide upon military and political policies for the kingdom; then it’s time for war.? Furthermore, new to Empires will be the ability for players to command their officers on the field, with orders to attack, defend, stand their ground, and along with other military commands. Players will also be able to manage their empire between battles in areas such as government and diplomacy.
Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires definitely looks to be a departure from previous Dynasty Warriors games, and could possibly even signal a return to Koei?s Romance of the Three Kingdoms roots. We at MyGamer are definitely interested to see how Empires will turn out.
