The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4) Review
The Last of Us is possibly one of the best games ever created, and although the game was created for the last generation of gaming, it appears to be one of the best games you can buy for the PS4. The graphics already looked great on the original version, but the remastered title definitely looks better when you compare them side-by-side. Look at the picture below to see the difference for yourself…
Many of the classics from last-gen gaming consoles are being remastered for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Last of Us was just released about a year ago and it has been coined the best third-person shooter game of all-time by many critics and online reviewers, so it is no wonder why they decided to remaster it and release it for the PlayStation 4.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to play the original version of the game, then here’s a quick introduction for you. The story features Joel as the main playable character, and it starts with you having to smuggle a teenage girl named Ellie – so yeah, Joel is not the most likeable character. However, the story is very realistic and everybody you meet poses a serious threat, so you will learn to understand the character and why he is the way he is.
The Last of Us is definitely filled with action, but there are many moments where you will find yourself scavenging for supplies, which will usually consist of health kits and items to craft weapons. When playing The Last of Us: Remastered you will visit various places looking for stuff, from hotels to coffee shops. Although the world is not what it once was, the developers did an outstanding job at making the places feel real, as if people really shopped at that record store, or slept in that hotel. The detail is simply amazing, and that really separates this game from other similar titles.
Joel is quite the cruel character indeed, as he bashes his enemies’ faces into the ground or stomps on them until you can’t recognize them in the bloody mess. Yes, this game is extremely violent and definitely not suitable for children. However, the blood shown in this game is not presented in a corny way to increase the shock value, but more so in a realistic as needed way that adds to the story.
The Last of Us: Remastered for the PlayStation 4 is getting a 5/5 in this review, as everything about this game is a masterpiece. It features the same multiplayer mode in the original, all the DLC and map packs, as well as a few new features for fans. They have added a photo mode to the game so you can stop the game and position a camera anywhere you want during your time playing the game. Of course you can share the photos you take with your friends, but they even added frames and filters for you to edit your picture.
Even if you still enjoy the PlayStation 3 version of The Last of Us, the remastered version is definitely worth buying if you want to see it on your current-generation console. Check out the video below to see the gameplay for yourself, it is definitely one of the best games ever made!

I just finished this on the PS3 and it’s good to know the remastered version for the PS4 lives up to the hype. It took me a long time to try it because zombie apocalypse first person shooters just aren’t good for my nerves but I’ve enjoyed this one immensely and Ellie was such an entertaining character.
