For many, he was an inspiration. I however, being about five at the time, will remember him as the crazy-haired guy on local public broadcasting who constantly chanted, "happy trees, happy trees…."
Although he was certainly one of the last people I expected this to happen to, Bob Ross is making his way into video games via DS, Wii, and PC.
AGFRAG's Director of Development, Joseph Hatcher, stated, "I want the community to share with us their favorite Bob Ross shows, painting techniques, and what they'd like to see in the NDS and Revolution games. We want to keep the brush going."
Whether the game community will be receptive of the digital version of Bob Ross's Joy of Painting show that had once broadcasted on public stations in dozens of different countries, we'll have to wait and see. Currently, however, the game's developer AGFRAG is hosting a contest for artists to submit their own original sea- or landscapes to appear in the game. Details can be found here at the official site.
