Ever since Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix arrived late last year, fans of the 2D fighting genre have been clamoring for a chance to play more of these remade classics on current-gen consoles. After a long, sustained rumble, Marvel has finally confirmed that the popular brawler, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, is going to hit the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade. While the 2000 Dreamcast hit will not receive the same “HD Remixing”, it will offer online battles and the excellent “quarter matches” found in HD Remix and the Live Arcade rerelease of Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting. The game is due out sometime this summer and will have a worthwhile price of $15.
Capcom has helped keep the 2d fighting genre with Street Fighter IV, and the relaunch of MvC2 with online capabilities is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Check with MyGamer for more details.
