After a crazy 2009, which saw the release of Street Fighter IV and a long-awaited port of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom is looking to keep fighting gamers just as occupied in 2010. With Tatsunoko vs. Capcom giving Wii gamers something they can actually enjoy, and with Super Street Fighter IV coming out shortly, Capcom has just announced Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
Details are still scant at this point, but a fact sheet has been released. High-flying, air-combo-filled three-on-three tag-battling will once again be enjoyed in the series. The game will also use a bold new “2.5D” graphical style that will potentially be like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom with a comic book twist. The only characters confirmed thus far are Wolverine (X-Men), Iron Man (Iron Man), Hulk (The Incredible Hulk), Ryu (Street Fighter), Chris Redfield (Resident Evil 5) and Morrigan (Darkstalkers). However, there are several pieces of artwork flying around featuring silhouettes that strongly resemble Captain America (Captain America), Doctor Doom (Fantastic Four), Super Skrull (Fantastic Four), Deadpool (Deadpool: Merc With a Mouth), Felicia (Darkstalkers), Chun Li (Street Fighter II), Frank West (Dead Rising) and Dante (Devil May Cry).
A website is already up at www.marvelvscapcom3.com though it simply features an embedded YouTube video of the trailer (which happens to be quite good). Stick with MyGamer for more details as they come available.
