Metal Gear Solid has used the ability of stealth to get its way onto mobile phones! This may sound like a hopeless way for Konami to get more money but you may be forgetting that the original Metal Gear games were very simple and easily transferable onto our current technology.
This is exactly what is planned for the series. MSX2, the original 8-bit game title, is currently available in Japan to play on cell phones for a monthly fee of about $2.88 U.S. dollars.
In the original game you play as a young Solid Snake who is just getting used to his sneaking skills. Your main objective in these games is to avoid detection. The game offers a lot of little bonuses. An example would be allowing you to have infinite ammunition upon completion of the game, and a time attack mode.
You can expect to see this release in the U.S. in about one years time.
