2K Sports revealed some more details on Major League Baseball 2K5 today, including information about the On Command Baserunning, Maximum Sliding, and Baseburner modes. Aiming to deliver the truly authentic fielding experience, 2K Sports hopes that gamers will immediately see and feel all of the action of really being on the diamond.
With On Command Baserunning, players will be able to see action in the four corners of the screen via picture-in-picture windows that will show the distance as well as the actions they are performing. Maximum Sliding aims to make every inch count, as players will use the right analog stick to control how you land on the base by sliding, avoiding the tag or going head-on. Finally, Baseburner mode allows gamers to play at bat through the perspective of any baserunner, letting you control what they do precisely.
Major League Baseball 2K5 ships for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox on March 1.
