Starting the first day of March, Xbox Live users can download exclusive Modest Mouse content from their Xbox 360 Dashboard. Music videos and behind-the-scence footage will be included.
Rock band Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 by vocalist/guitarist Isaac
Brock, bassist Eric Judy and drummer Jeremiah Green in Issaquah, Wash.
The trio released "The Fruit That Ate Itself" in 1997; its follow-up
from later that year, "The Lonesome Crowded West," was the band's
breakthrough. The rarities collection, "Building Nothing out of
Something," appeared in early 2000, followed later that year by their
Epic Records debut, "The Moon & Antarctica."
The new Modest Mouse album, "We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank," is
set for release on Epic Records on March 20. The new album was produced
by Dennis Herring ("Good News for People Who Love Bad News" ) and
recorded in Oxford, Miss., at Sweet Tea studios and Portland, Ore., at
Audio Alchemy. "We Were Dead" is the follow-up to the band's 2004 album,
"Good News For People Who Love Bad News," which included the hit "Float
On" and has sold more than 1.5 million copies and earned the band two
Grammy nominations.
The Xbox Live Arist of the Month allows Live members access to free exclusive entertainment in high definition. Thanks to Epic Records and their 1 year contract with Microsoft, a new artist will be showcased on Xbox Live every month. In the past, Good Charlotte, Tenacious D, Incubus, and Jessica Simpson all held the title for Xbox Live Artist of the Month.
