Square Enix gave some more details this morning on the release of upcoming games in their Musashi series. Available exclusively on the PlayStation 2, Musashi: Samurai Legend will now arrive on North American shores on March 15. Known for its fast paced gameplay and cel-shaded graphics, Samurai Legend looks to continue the trend set by its PS1 predecessors as it comes to the PS2 for the first time.
“We hope fans will enjoy the great graphics, action and storyline in these games,” said Ichiro Otobe, president and COO of Square Enix, Inc. “Our North American fans are really important to the company, and we wanted to show our appreciation by trying a different business approach. With MUSASHI, we are releasing a title in the United States before Japan for the first time. And, with the concurrent release of the mobile game, our U.S. fans will be able to play anytime, anywhere.”
In addition, Musashi Mobile Samurai was also announced for cell phones. Using the same concepts as the console title, the mobile game aims to have most of the same features that are optimized for the mobile phone experience.
Musashi: Samurai Legend will retail for $39.99 and is rated T for teen. We’ll have more details on Musashi: Mobile Samurai as they become available.
