The Xbox Live Marketplace is receiving a boost in content thanks to NBC and the NFL. Both are offering free downloads (only in the US) starting September 7 including, NFL Kickoff Weekend, NBC's NFL Behind the Scenes, and trailers for '30 Rock' and ‘Kidnapped'. The trailers, both in 720p, are a strong suggestion that major networks are considering the Live Marketplace as a viable way of advertising.
While these downloads may not be enough reason to throw out your satellite dish, it does forecast what could be a major break in the Xbox Marketplace. NBC was a major player in providing full length content through iTunes and these downloads may just be the beginning of an influx of content form NBC.
Although nothing on full length programming has been confirmed, it is hard to imagine that after the success of iTunes that NBC would not want to test the waters of the Xbox Live Marketplace. Stay tuned to MyGamer.com for the latest news as we hear it.
