Activision announced in May that it had secured the rights to the James Bond franchise. EA previously held the rights, and sold them after a string of unsuccessful titles, both commercially and critically. According to a job posting on Activision’s web site, the reigns to the franchise have been given to in-house developer Treyarch. Treyarch is known for such titles and [i]Call of Duty 2: Big Red One[/i] and the upcoming [i]Call of Duty 3[/i]. Considering that Treyarch’s recent titles have been first person shooters, this could mean a return to the old style of Bond games such as the ever popular [I]Goldeneye[/I] for the Nintendo 64.
