Though Nintendo's address at the 2011 Game Developer's Conference, featuring company president Satoru Iwata and president of the American branch, Reggie Fils-Aime, seemed driven by the desire to give a long list of things that the 3DS will be able to do post-launch, it also contained some announcements and new information that should prove interesting to fans of the company and their games. A new preview of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword figured prominently in the address, displaying not only the graphics and art style, which are reminiscent of older Zelda titles, but also the copious amounts of Wii Motion Plus flailing that gamers can expect to do in the name of saving the world from whatever dark forces Link finds himself up against. A new Mario title was also announced for the 3DS, featuring a logo with a suspiciously Raccoon Mario-esque tail. The game will be a 3D platformer developed by the team that brought you the Super Mario Galaxy titles with an as-yet unannounced release date.
