Microsoft announced today that new downloadable content will be available for its multi-million selling mega-game Gears of War, best of all – it will be completely free. Starting January 10, gamers will have access to two new maps complete with introductory video by Epic Lead Designer Cliffy B.
The first map, Raven Down takes place on the city streets, with plenty of bomb craters and rusted-out wreckage providing cover for Delta Team as they search for survivors of a Raven helicopter crash.

The second map, Old Bones, gives you the task of defending an old museum from the Horde, who wish to destroy it, just like every other part of human life.

Need another reason to download? How about two million? In support of its new show “Future Weapons,” The Discovery Channel (who also sponsored the download) is giving away 2 million Microsoft points in increments of 400. The promotion runs January 13-15, see the promotion’s official website http://www.readyaimfuture.com for more information.
