In a recent interview, Blizzard's COO Paul Sams, stated that Blizzard has plans of releasing expansions for the multi-platinum selling World of Warcraft every year. He states, "Starting with The Burning Crusade, every year thereafter we plan on bringing out a new expansion set – so every 12 months."
With Burning Crusade nearing completion, Sams says that details of the beta will be announced in the near future. The release date though is still foggy, "We're still quoting very confidently winter and we will be more specific on the timeframe quite soon," said Sams.
