Nintendo announced on Wednesday that nearly 200,000 different users worldwide have logged onto the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi gaming service since it went online three weeks ago. With most of the Wi-Fi activity originating from U.S. players, Nintendo says that users have connected to the network almost 3 million times. Partly responsible for these numbers is Nintendo’s recent agreement with McDonald’s and Wi-Fi provider Wayport, supplying Wi-Fi hotspots at nearly 6,000 McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S.
