As fun as it may be to download countless classics of the Nintendo games off of the Wii’s Virtual Console, it’s been struggling in comparison to XBLA. Rumor has it, that Nintendo is planning to launch a Games Channel.
Gizmodo.com gave us the heads up from Computerandvideogames.com, “Nintendo has developed a programming system that will allow small independent developers to make games for Wii download service. We cannot confirm at this time in what format the new content will be delivered, but in the future there will be original games available for download through the Wii Shop."
As far as we know, the prospect of a new Games Channel has the potential to provoke those Wii owners who don’t think twice about the various other channels. With the myriad of things the Wii can do, these downloadable games would sure help out their struggling library of games.
