NVIDIA announced earlier this morning the introduction of their new GeForce 6200 GPU with TurboCache Technology. With the new technology, the GPU is now able to render directly to system memory compared to using local memory on the grapchics card. The new GPU will also lower on-board memory requirements, which will allow PC builders to make systems with more powerful capabilities at value prices.
“Customers in the value segment previously have had to settle for technology that was one generation behind the cutting edge, high-end GPUs,” said Ujesh Desai, general manager of desktop graphics for NVIDIA. “For the first time ever, NVIDIA TurboCache will deliver the award-winning feature set found on current-generation high-end GPUs to the value segment of the PC market.”
The GeForce 6200 GPUs with TurboCache are now shipping to stores nationwide.
