Electronic Arts announced today that Emeka Okafor, the UConn All-American that led the Huskies to the 2004 NCAA Men’s National Championship, has been chosen to grace the cover and serve as spokesman for [i]NCAA March Madness 2005[/i].Okafor, who garnered numerous postseason awards and academic acheievments after graduating from Connecticut in three years with a 3.8 GPA, was also taken as the No. 2 overall pick in June’s NBA Draft to the expansion Charlotte Bobcats. He also earned a bronze medal in Athens last month as a member of the United States Olympic Men’s Basketball Team.
“Earning the cover spot on [i]NCAA March Madness 2005[/i] is the perfect way to celebrate my time at UConn,” said Okafor, who will appear on all packaging and merchandising for [i]NCAA March Madness 2005[/i]. “I’ve been an EA SPORTS fan for as long as I can remember, and to be a part of this game – where strategy and teamwork is at the core – is a fitting extension to the incredible experience I had playing college basketball.”
Being touted as the most strategic basketball game ever developed, [i]NCAA March Madness 2005[/i] will allow players to be the floor general and lead more than 320 Division I schools to the Big Dance. With the new Floor General System, users can take complete control of a game.
Look for [i]NCAA March Madness 2005[/i] for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox this November.
