Infinium Labs, the company responsible for the Phantom game console, has announced that their new hardware will not be released until 2005. Their original target date for release was this upcoming holiday season, but company officials stated the following:
“The decision comes at the request of both its retail and marketing partners, who have told the company they want more time to plan promotional and merchandising activities for the new games-on-demand service.”
For those who are unaware, the Phantom game console will be a completely online gaming service where players will be able to play and download games. Infinium Labs has taken much criticism to the legitimacy of their console since its inception, but the company has made huge strides since the hiring of former Microsoft executive Kevin Bachus as President.
