Jason Michael Paul Productions, Inc. informed MyGamer today that it's next concert appearance will be at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 26th, at 8 PM and will also be occurring in conjunction with the Fanime convention. The concert, which will last two hours and will feature music performed by Symphony Silicon Valley and Chorale. The Symphony will be lead by the Grammy Award winning musical director and conductor Arnie Roth, who otherwise serves as the conductor for the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra. Mr. Roth had this to say about his participation in the PLAY! Concert: "It's no secret among game lovers and connoisseurs of orchestral music that some of today's most thrilling scores are coming out of the video game genre. Roth also added that: "This spectacular concert series speaks to the growing popularity and artistic sophistication of this form of entertainment and will attract people of all generations to some of the world's greatest concert halls.
The producer, Jason Michael Paul, also offered the statement that “"It is exciting to bring video game music concert to California. After the success of Dear Friends – Music from FINAL FANTASY in 2005 and now PLAY!, it is obvious that there is an appetite for concert presentations of video game music. The city of San Jose has a diverse performing arts community that is a perfect match for building a new genre of concert music. Our partnership with Fanime only reinforces the notion that our show is, 'By Fans, For Fans'. Anime, video game and those interested in the arts will feel welcome at PLAY!" This performance will be the second concert which featured the Symphony Silicon Valley with the first being a concert that performed to a sold out crowd back in 2005.
Tickets will be range in price from 36-72 dollars a seat along with a smaller number of seats that are being offered for 100 dollars and will include a PLAY! Package containing a number of gifts for the purchaser.
