If you are even a casual gamer, you've probably heard of Steam. If you haven't, you should give them a look. They are a great system that not only brings gaming to just about wherever you are via their unique client (for even Mac and iPad and mobile devices in some cases), but adds a social element to the 1100 games. You can chat with your friends while playing, meet new people to play with or discuss the intricacies of what to do in the midst of 10,000 zombies in their forums, while getting automatic updates so that they are always up to date, Steam achievements to brag to your friends and a lot more. But what's really cool about Steam is that they aren't just for big budget games like Skyrim and Rage, but they handle independent and smaller publishers as well that have some really fun games to play for a budget price.
