Naughty Dog has provided us with many dramatic, amusing, and cartoony hours of entertainment, with their landmark titles such as Jax and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank (Naughty Dog titles always go in order of height, you see). We have wiled away many an hour defeating NPCs, collecting dark eco or bolts, and of course saving the world by whatever way we could while watching our in game alter egos quip their way through a variety of well designed worlds and buildings.
But now, with the PS3's release date gradually creeping towards us, Naughty Dog has decided to take a different tack. It is an action style game, that much is the same, but everything else is radically different from any previous Naughty Dog game experience. No cartoonish exaggeration here; the characters in the game look incredibly realistic. And yet..not one of them ever has a pimple. "Enemies are bearing down all around me, but I must apply this Clearasil!"

Not much is known about the game at the moment, since not even Naughty Dog knows what they want to call it, but what we do know is that the game will have a more serious tone then Naughty Dog's previous releases. It will be from the third person, like before, but to judge from the trailer the game also has the same free flow game system as before, except more so. It seems your character was on the hunt for some mysterious treasure, and then gets caught up in a very dangerous situation where you will have to run, jump, swing, shoot, and when all else fails punch and kick your way through to your goal.
There is no concrete information available on Naughty Dog's website apart from a place where you can view the trailer, which is all to the good, but it would be nice to have a little more information about who this man is, what he's after, and why these men are so quite clearly angry at him. Still, I suppose we'll just have to sit around and hope that the delectable appetizer we have been given will eventually turn into a four course meal that we will keep us satisfied for as long as the in game excitement lasts.
