The PlayStation Portable is already the Swiss army knife of the portable gaming world, and if Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe is to have its way, the PSP is set to gain even more functionality. Coming in September, PSP owners in Europe will have the opportunity to purchase interactive city guides, developed with the assistance of travel web site [a]http://www.lonelyplanet.com/[aa]Lonely Planet[/a].
The travel guides, collectively branded Planet PSP, will cover six European cities at launch: Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Paris, Prague and Rome. The travel guides offer their advice and content via videos, audio walks, photography, maps, pre-planned itineraries, and the ability to make your own itineraries. Information in the Planet PSP travel guides is organized into three categories: points of interest, essential information, and getting around. To keep the travel guides up to date, the Planet PSP guides can be updated via additional downloadable updates, videos, stills, and special interest itineraries.
Expect the Planet PSP guides to hit stores sometime in September.
