Puppet Kings is a modern take on the Breakout genre taking block-breaking to new levels of fun by introducing a story, characters, boss rush as primary game mode and a roguelike twist.

In a land where The Ancient Law states that kings of the four races should take turns at the throne, the current king is determined to rule forever. In order to do so, he and his minions will have to overcome The Judges, titanic monsters tasked with enforcing the Ancient Law and preventing pretenders from ascending to power.
The Judges will always come back to fight the rallying kings. The only way to stop them for good, is to shut down the Ancestors Forge where they were made. The player incarnates his favorite king on his quest to the forge. The crux of it all is that he is old and out of shape, and will need the help of his minions to fight the Judges.

Gameplay:
The game is driven by a non-linear progression through the Judges’ fights. The game has up to 9 levels, in each one the player will fight one Judge. There are several different Judges are available in each level.
By meeting a certain criteria, each judge can be enraged making it harder to defeat. When the player manages to enrage and then defeat a boss an alternative path will open for them on the map
